How to Buy a Rolex Watch and Not Screw Up

How to Buy a Rolex Watch and Not Screw Up

I'm gonna be going back to the basics how to. And it’s on how to buy a Rolex and not screw up ? Alright so you have decided you want to buy your first high-end watch or luxury watch and you have decided you want to go to Rolex, which is a pretty frequent first watch.  So, the obvious question is,” why a Rolex ?” . Well, there is a
couple of reasons why ? : One Rolex is a classic, timeless design. You know,  Rolex is a watch that might not be the
favorite of most collectors, but you can not say they are ugly. You might have just gotten bored of them, if you are a
hardcore collector, but you can not say they are ugly because mostly all Rolexes are very nice.

And one of the most
important things in my opinion is that Rolex can be a great investment.

You know research shows that investing in Rolex watches can be as good or better than investing in stocks. Now, before all you traders freak out on me, we are not talking about buying a Rolex to make millions. We are talking about small,
long-term investments. okay ? Buying Rolex is a great investment. You know there's not many watches that you can buy where you can have that much value in return the day you decide to maybe sell it or upgrade to a different watch. So a couple of questions you've got to ask yourself. when am I going to wear this Rolex watch ?  Am I neccessaly to use it just to go out ? Is it gonna be a weekend thing ? Am I gonna wear Rolex for work ? Am I gonna wear Rolex daily ? If you are
gonna wear Rolex daily and for work, then you gotta ask yourself the question ,What is the right watch for work ?

If you are an investment banker and you are working in an office situation all day, then obviously a dressier
watch would be better than a guy that has a construction company with a dressy watch.

He would probably be better off going with a sports model,  perhaps a GMT or a Submariner. So those are kind of the
questions that I want to say also.  Also,  if you are gonna wear Rolex everyday for work, but you like to do a lot
of boating and you are gonna plan to wear your watch all the time, then I suggest that that investment banker that goes boating every weekend should go with a Submariner or a GMT because it is  something that you could wear in the water, use it more. It's a lot more tougher for those type of situations situations than perhaps a datejust you know. So those are kind of the questions you want to ask.

You know you are gonna ask, what am I gonna use this watch for ? If you are just gonna use it for special occasions, to dress up nice, then I would go dressy. If you want more of a versatile, all-arounder, then go with a sports model. Okay so one of the most important things is gonna be how much should you spend. You know you gonna kind of got to see what type of budget you have decided to allocate for this. You could start off you know in a lower price range and spend about 3,800 dollars and maybe get yourself a nice 90’s 36 – millimeter, you know stainless steel datejust, start off you know it's fantastic watch. I know people that bought that watch and had it their whole life and never bought any other watch,
but that's kind of gonna be the starter range. Depending on the range that you have, you know if you are range is maxed out at five thousand dollars, then you might want to maybe look at a nice older submariner.

Fantastic watch you know plenty of collectors have started out with that watch and if I was gonna only have one watch in my entire life,  why not a steelsubmariner. You know you can't go wrong with that. so when you are gonna be in a little bit of a higher range, if you can stretch to 7,000 dollars and beyond, then that's when you could start looking at more of the newer models.  Some of the newer,  sports models and the newer Datejust lines that are available, which would suit your needs. So that's what you gotta ask yourself. You know what's your budget, and within that budget, That will give you an example of some price ranges.

Another important thing is where to buy ? You see that's the crossroads that you're gonna get to, that's gonna make a
big difference. Do you go for an authorized dealer and pay full retail ? Or do I shop perhaps a nice, pre-owned at
a good price. You know that's a decision that you're gonna have to make and and that's also gonna make or break the deal, because if you are gonna buy this watch and you are gonna plan to have it the rest of your entire life, then paying full price in an ad would not be a problem ; but if you are certain that, at some point, you are gonna want to upgrade this watch, then I would consider it buying a pre-owned. Now, the most important thing on this whole process is,  you shouldn't stress out. It shouldn't be a stressful thing. Buying your first watch or buying any watch should be something exciting and something that you know gives you enjoyment and pleasure. So don't stress yourself out. think about it. Get a couple opinions. Don't be influenced by your friends, especially the ones that don't own a watch and don't know nothing about it. Do what you like. Get the watch that you feel you want. You know is my advice to you honestly is to get a sports model, but deep down inside you wanna the dress one go with the dress watch. So, keep that in mind.
